oh summer time

where did the years go?
i used to be best friends with the swimming pool
and the sun gave me a nice free tan

i could eat imo's pizza every day
and keep my six pack of abs
to think that was 9 years ago

every july i would have a birthday party
those were the best days ever
no worries or bills to think about

now my time is on hold
for about 15-20 years
but i'm not leaving, summer
i'm just handing over all the fun
to my little babies

i dream of laying out by the pool
but its only a dream
because reality is i must take care of a 1 year old
the entire time
not letting go of him for even a second

but seeing the joy on his face is priceless
so i won't be selfish
i will choose to share

oh swimming pool and lawn chair
just give me time
and we will again reunite
and sun, i am looking forward to my tan
