Big Brother

you're only 8 months old and you are already so full of personality. you now know how to wave and even though you wave backwards it's still the most adorable thing i've seen. i love the way you make silly faces when eating something new. you have learned to dance when you stand in your crib and laugh when i pretend to burp like you.
i have told this story but you are just too young to understand. as an only child myself, i dreamed of having brothers and sisters. i never received that chance but at 8 months old i must tell you, you are a wonderful only child but in september you will have to be so kind to share your attention with a new sibling.
my hope and my prayer is that you will cherish every day with your new baby brother or sister, that you may never wish you were an only child. because i have been there and for me, it was very lonely.
i have pondered whether or not you were praying for this because the dates don't quite match up but i accept this fact and am very excited to have 2 children be so close in age. about 15 months apart to be exact. so as much as this was a shock for myself and daddy... and the grandparents.... please always know that we love you very much and if this new baby is your only sibling or if more are to come, no matter the number, we will love you the same.
