Ready to Conquer 2009

Wow! It's only the second day of the new year and we are already starting off with a very busy schedule. But I love it! Staying busy keeps me focused and organized b/c I know I only have a limited amount of time to finish a task.

For those of you who don't know, Josh and I are starting a new business with a friend. The last year and a half our our marriage has been good but there was something that used to drive me crazy that's about to pay off. When Josh and I got married in June of 07 we lived in a duplex together and started off with an empty basement. Then he began to purchase used weight equipment for a fraction of the price if it was new and stored it in the basement. He would buy rusted pieces and some rather nice pieces. He would use a sand machine and buff out the rust and spray paint the entire machine to look brand new. I can't lie, this drove me crazy. Not only was it time consuming (we were newlyweds and I wanted every minute of his time) but it was so loud in the house and he would have to spray paint outside sometimes and let the machine sit out their to dry, I'm sure the neighbors didn't think too highly of us! lol The worst part was we used the basement door when entering the duplex so the first thing I saw when walking in the door was tons of equipment and no room to walk around.

Well now we are home owners and for the first few months we had lots of room in the basement and could fit 2 cars in our garage. Then he made a bigger purchase and let's just say, I walk through a maze to reach my trash can in our garage and the car stays parked outside. The basement also has weight equipment but I can at least walk down there without sucking in my stomach!

So in about 2 weeks time we will finally be able to park our car in the garage again. Because we have now signed our papers and are opening a gym called, Complete Fitness. It's only a mile from our home and is visible to all highway drivers on 55 at the Herculaneum exit. Yesterday all the walls and ceilings were sprayed down with paint and part of the flooring was laid. With Josh being sick and working about 50-60 hours a week, it was crunch time to get things done.

So how wonderful and how blessed I am to have a husband who would think to buy what I thought was "just in the way" ugly weight equipment and turn it into something beautiful. We now have the opportunity to go into business debt free! Praise God!

So on top of opening a new business we are also starting Bible College on Monday! It is only on Monday's and a couple Sunday's a month, but I can't fathom the amount of homework we will have if we aren't in class that much for earning 12 full credit hours.

On top of these 2 new tasks, we are both keeping our jobs currently so we have some income for our regular bills and I will be babysitting up to 3 days a week for a friend and earning some extra cash.

Who is going to do all the laundry and cooking now?? ;) Lord give me grace and a peace to help me through these upcoming weeks and months. I know that 2009 will be a great year to shine and show Your Glory! So as I take a deep breath and soak all of this in, I pray that whatever we do in the new year, let us do it unto You!

the gym is going to be great and pretty soon, Josh can quit his other job, and you can quit yours and you'll both be together a lot more... hang in there!
