2 years and counting

Tuesday was our 2 year anniversary. Last week I couldn't stop asking Josh what he wanted to do. All I wanted was to ask his parents to take Z for the night and we could have alone time and cook dinner. But he never told me yes or no... then Monday night we exchanged gifts since he had to work on our anniversary. As to my surprise, I had a card on my pillow and inside it was reservations for a bed & breakfast in Branson and dinner at the Dixie Stampede Theatre.

My initial reaction was... we can't afford this... but I know how amazing Josh is at planning things ahead and saving up. (If I was smart I would have started on his gift at Christmas.. his gifts are so great) Then he said we get to go shopping... oh my gosh.. I haven't done that in a very long time. Shopping for x-mas gifts was probably the last time. So we both got to spoil ourselves for our anniversary which was a great change of pace. Last year we had a 2 week old and just went to Applebee's where there were other babies and I kept thinking about Z. But this year he stayed overnight with the grandparents and I had 2 days without changing a diaper. That was nice.

So 2 years have passed and we have been blessed beyond measure. Almost 2 boys have been added to our family as well as a new house and a new business. I'm glad I don't know what God has in store for us because everyday is a mystery and getting surprised by His plan is just wonderful.

I know that a year from now things will be extremely different. A prophecy will begin to pass from 2 years ago and the brothers will be a little bit older and my time doing laundry will definately increase. But I am so thankful for all that I have and can't find enough ways to give my thanks. It will be a daily priveledge I'll fulfill until I see Him face to face.
